THE NEXT STEPS
At the end of July 2016, I was elected to serve on Sigma Pi Fraternity‘s Grand Council. The election took place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the fraternity’s 53rd Biennial Convocation. The Grand Council is the fraternity’s board of trustees. Like any nonprofit organization, the fraternity’s board of trustees is tasked with strategic planning, vision setting, administrative and fiduciary oversight, advocacy on behalf of the mission, and (perhaps most importantly) raising money to support the organization. I was elected with a mandate to put my experience in each of these areas to work for my fraternity.

The fraternity required that each candidate to complete a questionnaire. You can download and read my responses to the questionnaire by clicking here (PDF).
Additionally, prior to the election I worked with two other candidates to create a platform that we called The Next Steps. The Next Steps was discussed with various stakeholders to determine the next steps needed to take Sigma Pi Fraternity to the next level. This was – and is – a platform of ideas and key goals that we hope will guide the Grand Council during our term – and beyond. As we were all elected to the Grand Council during the elections, we immediately started to use this platform as the basis of our work together. The Next Steps is posted on this page for public download and consideration. Thank you to all of the past and present Grand Council Officers and alumni volunteers, recent graduates, and current undergraduates who provided critical comments and suggestions that helped shape this document.

Remember, this document is not intended to provide painstaking detail on each policy point. Rather, it was created to put ideas and strategies for success on the table.
